The Off-Campus Event Medication/Confidentiality Chaperone (MCT) Training is a mandatory requirement for chaperones responsible for collecting essential forms, securely storing medications, and handling protected health information during off-campus events. An off-campus event refers to any school-sponsored event or club activity, whether on or off campus, occurring outside regular school hours or involving overnight trips. Examples of such events/clubs include, but are not limited to, Destination Imagination, Robotics, Band, Dance, and Student Council.
Please note that trained chaperones are NOT allowed to administer medications. Only a Leander ISD employee who is being compensated for their presence at the event is authorized to administer medications to LISD students. The primary role of MCT chaperones is to assist with the collection and secure storage of medications, as well as the handling of protected health information.
Individuals interested in volunteering as MCT chaperones must complete this training and obtain clearance from the Director of Health Services. Additionally, attending additional training sessions may be necessary. The training will remain valid throughout the school year in which it was completed. Please note that field trips occurring during regular school hours are not included in this category.
